  • About the Authors
The form of this piece is in A1 B1 A2 B2. The pedagogy student who drew it not only shows the melodic contour of each measure with a few key pitches, but she made effective use of color to distinguish the right and left hand parts and to highlight the form:

1. The RH part is red and the LH part is blue.

2. The background of both A sections is green, since they are thematically identical.

3. Both B sections begin on a yellow background, but since the end of B2 is different from the end of B1, the color changes to brown in the last line.

This student went on to become a pre-school music instructor, and her approach suggests some interesting possibilities for teaching musical form to young children.
